This free Ohio Notice of Commencement form is used in the state of Ohio to formally designate the beginning of the project. An Ohio Notice of Commencement is generally posted by the property owner on any private construction project within 10 days after the commencement of work. If they fail to do so, prime contractors may file on their behalf. Once filed, it triggers the preliminary notice requirement for subs and suppliers, 21 days from when the notice was filed. Otherwise, no notice is required to file a lien; and timeframe to file may be extended.
